What is Windows 365?

You might hear about the recent announcement by Microsoft in regards to the Windows 365. It is an operating system on the cloud. In case we want to connect to an operating system we have the following options:

Virtual Machine on Physical Servers: In this scenario we would have to setup multiple physical servers and then boot them up with multiple Virtual Machines and install Windows on them and we are responsible to maintain and manage Windows and physical servers. Users would be able to connect to them remotely.

Azure Virtual Desktop: In this scenario, you don’t need a physical server and you may purchase multiple virtual machines running Windows on the cloud. In this case, you have to maintain and manage Windows devices, however you don’t have to worry about maintenance of physical servers.

Windows 365: In this case, you still have virtual machines on the cloud and you don’t have to worry about physical servers. However, you don’t have to worry about maintaining and managing Windows devices and Microsoft will do it for you. In this case, you may only focus on your works without being worry about maintenance and managements. The following is the comparative table:
