The What and Why Behind Wednesdays Fore Fun

You don’t have to be around me for long to discover that one of the things I enjoy most is a great round of golf. Relationships are also at the top of the list of what I value. Those two priorities in my life were the catalysts for creating my “Wednesdays Fore Fun” (WFF) summer golf events some seven years ago.
I started WFF as a way to get people together in a more informal environment than typical networking events, which are primarily one-and-done occasions where you can meet and greet but not get to know people. The focus of WFF is about building long-term relationships, which is truly how business is done. WFF provides a place and opportunity to meet new people and build both business connections and friendships.
I also wanted WFF to provide a non-competitive, casual environment where people who don’t feel they are great at golf can participate, have fun, and enjoy the people they’re with – no winners or losers. Anyone who attends an event will find it to be friendly, low key, and that there is no competition. That’s what keeps them coming back.
It takes a genuine commitment to take several hours out of a workday to warm up, play, then enjoy a cocktail with the group at the 19th hole. But participants, many of whom have come back year after year, find it to be a special time of getting to know great people while having fun in a non-threatening environment.
We typically book four foursomes. It seems to be the perfect number – there are no strangers among sixteen people. Our list of WFF golfers has grown over the years and we’re happy to say we have more women playing now than at the start.

My first WFF event to tee off the season was at Bear Dance on June 14. It was great fun – a wonderful way to take a break from the office, get outside, enjoy Colorado’s natural beauty, and spend time with some great people!!
Following is the proposed schedule for the remainder of the 2023 season. It’s subject to change based on availability.
If you’d like to participate, please email [email protected]. You can let us know if you’d like to attend specific events and we’ll add you to the WFF list for event reminders and updates. If you’d like to bring a colleague or client as a guest, please let us know when you sign up to make sure we have a space. Each person pays for their own green fees and cart, and we cover drinks and appetizers at the 19th hole! We ask that, if you find you can’t attend an event you’ve signed up for, you let us know as soon as possible since we may have a waiting list for a spot on a foursome.
I hope to see you this season at some of our events. And remember, you don’t have to be an accomplished golfer. If you can keep it in the fairway and enjoy the game, you’ll fit right in. WFF is mainly about sharing exactly what the name suggests … some fun!
