- iOS has experienced a consistent, albeit modest, increase in downloads over recent years. In the first quarter of 2024, the number of downloads on the platform reached 8.4 million, representing a 2.1% increase compared to the previous quarter. This represents the highest number of downloads since the second quarter of 2020.
- Google Play, however, experienced a further decline of 5.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024. This appears to be a correction following the platform's rapid growth in 2020, when people turned to their mobile devices to adapt during the onset of the pandemic.

- Other markets demonstrated robust growth in the $100 million to $250 million range, including the UK and Germany. The UK demonstrated the highest growth in the group at 28% year-on-year, including an impressive 20% growth in mobile games.

- In the first quarter of 2024, TikTok retained its position as the top app in terms of consumer spending, marking the end of a four-year period during which it consistently ranked at the top of the chart. The app generated more than $1.2 billion in revenue during the quarter, significantly outperforming YouTube with its $500 million.
- Apps for streaming short "drama" films, already popular in China, are gaining traction in the US. #ReelShort, #DramaBox and #ShortMax are among the top ten apps in terms of revenue growth globally, and GoodShort is among the top ten in the US.
