What went down at build3 in October :)
??Insights from our accelerator and an invitation to spread the good karma around!
The build3 villa is electric with startup energy!
25+ founders at the villa are actively seeking co-founders and refining their startup ideas to receive funding and realise their startup's potential.
As mentioned in previous newsletters, creating a startup cohort is more like alchemy than an exact science. The hypothesis is that the total value of getting innovative founders together will be greater than the sum of the individual parts. Allowing them space and creative freedom to bond with each other naturally will hopefully result in startup magic!?
Our principal startup sherpa, Abhimanyu Rathi , shares a few learnings he learned while working with founders closely.
Problem First, Solution Second: The path to innovation is not about fitting solutions to problems but the reverse. It's about understanding the gravity of the situation and then, with meticulous research, crafting a solution that stands the test of market and time. Most founders fall in love with coming up with a solution before realising the problem that they are solving is very minor.
Understanding TAM: Total Addressable Market (TAM) is often misconstrued as the total market opportunity. In reality, it's the potential revenue your product could earn in a market. It's a subtle but critical distinction that can redefine strategies. This determines if your startup has the potential to scale.
Most founders in the accelerator have found co-founders with complementary skills that will help each other on their path of Profit AND Purpose.?
We want to open the floor for mentors who wish to spread good karma around by volunteering to help passionate impact founders build their startups. A 5 - 6-hour commitment monthly would help our founders turbocharge their startups.
If you have scaled startups successfully before and are eager to help out, please email our accelerator team at [email protected]
??Have you heard of the Amazon flywheel?
Imagine you're playing a video game, and as you get better gear, you can defeat more enormous bosses, giving you even better equipment. For Amazon, it means more customers bring in more sales, which attracts more businesses to sell their stuff on Amazon, and that means more choices and better prices for customers, making the wheel spin faster and faster.
build3's flywheel is slowly coming together. The prospect of meeting 25+ founders working on their startups is enticing for founders/creators coming outside Goa for a short period to stay in Goa. In return, the programming of cohub (Bachata sessions, finding your co-founder sessions, board game nights, art workshops etc.) and the energy of founders who come to stay at cohub provides a richer experience to the accelerator participants.?

Our programming mastermind, Parag Murali , conducted activities like building the tallest tower with the materials around them and creating an AI pet together. The activities are both fun and valuable!

??Most companies pay lip service to meet our environmental and sustainability goals.
Are you struggling to measure your organization's impact? You're not alone. Alakshi Tomar , our head of hiring, knows that many organizations face this problem. The biggest challenges come from a lack of understanding of impact frameworks, poor data collection practices (including wonky scorecards and missing line items), and insufficient prioritization (with impact measurement being treated as an afterthought until investors demand it)
Since we are in the business of helping impact startups grow, we have developed a curriculum to help founders become more aware of ESG and SDGs and how they can align with them when building their startups.
So when people come and stay with us at cohub, they can become more aware of how to make their business more sustainable :)?
