What We Treasure, and Looking at Awards Season.

As we enter Thanksgiving and celebrate the season of giving thanks, I am reminded of visits with my aunt during my childhood. As we approached holiday celebrations, she would prepare meats that she had raised on her farm, using the freshest beef and pork, as well as making freshly baked goods. At the time, we had no appreciation for that sort of thing. Our view was that if something was not imported, it was not worth consuming. When I look back on those days, I think of the times I have traveled to Athens, Greece or Paris, France, and visited their fresh meat, poultry, and vegetable markets, or Italy for freshly made pasta. These are some of the things that we now consider special about places we travel to, that serve fresh produce, meat, and vegetables. The farm-to-table options are luxurious experiences these days. Having the Kew Farm officially opened, along with several farm-to-table restaurants serving food in Turks and Caicos, is a step in the right direction for a destination providing luxury inclusions with affordable options.?

?Awards and Ceremonies

Over the last several months, we have seen awards season in full swing. From Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association's- TCIFA's Inaugural Awards Gala Ball, raising funds for Youth Development and National Programs, to Invest Turks and Caicos MSME Inaugural Awards, recognizing the contributions of community stalwarts along with providing awards to newer businesses that are making an impact on the community. We take this opportunity to congratulate the nominees as well as all the winners at these ceremonies. We know that they are well-deserved because of your hard work and dedication to your craft.

We are pleased to recognize Ocean Breeze Resort, which is opening in Whitby North Caicos on December 16th, 2023. The resort adds a long-awaited hotel product to North Caicos and should be the start of this island's progress in the accommodations sector.
