What We Should Be Worried About

Our esteemed influencer Nicolai Tangen posted this Brics Expansion image with a comment / question:

I am worried that the world is splitting in two. Are you?

I appreciate it when big leaders want to hear what other people think. But that's not what this post is about.

My Commentary

In general, there are many groups and leaders around the world who see themselves as correcting the world. This is mainly done by focusing on something outside ourselves - like the climate, this Brics business, or contributing to some cause that needs our help.

But now, if we want things to be better, we really need to shift our focus.

We're heading into a transition that we can call 'man as a small world' - because instead of thinking about changing things outside of us, we'll know that the whole world is a reflection of our inner world. We'll know that our thoughts and intentions reflect the consequences of our inner qualities. We'll even be aware that to really change anything in a significant manner here in this world, all we have to do is change our attitude.

Meaning the change we want to see outside of us will come from inside us.

Some of you may be thinking at this point that that's not a huge breakthrough - we've sort of known this for a while now - that when we make adjustments on the inside, things around us start changing.

The innovation is that we can no longer do this "work" on our own - but only as part of a group of people. We can no longer watch motivational clips, read books, talk to our therapist, and imagine we're changing the world for the better.

We're not - because we do those things with the sole intention of benefitting ourselves. That may have enabled us to make slight shifts in the past, but now that there are new forces operating on our world - we're going to need to roll up our sleeves and do the real "work." Together.

This is the main thing we should be worried about. Not only that we'll embark on this process, but that many others will get onboard as quickly as possible.
