What we learnt at Transform 2022
Sage Transform was a time for Sage to announce its new ideas. This article will be an overview of those announcements and other things that we learnt whilst at the conference. The conference was a great experience for our consultants that went, and we will be attending next year as well! There are so many opportunities to learn more about the products as well as hear first-hand about the plans Sage have for the coming year.
One of the big announcements from the conference was Sage’s acquisition of a carbon accounting company called Spherics. This will help businesses easily understand and reduce their environmental impact as well as reinforces Sage’s pledge to sustainability. Spherics uses the data from companies accounting software and matching transactions with emission factors to create and estimate of their carbon footprint.
Another significant move for Sage is expanding the availability of Intacct to Europe. They will be starting with France. This will be the first non-English speaking country for Sage Intacct. Dan Miller EVP of Product for Sage said in an interview with Enterprise Times that “It’s really part of a larger strategy for us to move in tax financials into continental Europe.” The plan is to expand the languages available into Spanish, German and Canadian French after the French version is launched.

Sage also announced the latest product updates, reminding us of their strong partnership with Microsoft. They had signposted the integration with Microsoft Teams in July. This will help to automate workflows. Customers can now submit and approve accounting processes directly through Teams rather than the Sage Intacct or People application. Sage Intacct and Sage Active will be available on Microsoft Azure meaning that Microsoft customers can have access to Sage products directly from the Azure cloud. These two major updates will allow SMBs to save time and improve efficiency.
Sage Intacct Inventory Automation provides a cloud-based inventory management system that can help businesses ensure their stock and supply is utilized effectively to keep the business running. The new additions mean that customers can now automate inventory transactions with barcoding and mobile data capture. This allows for real-time, companywide visibility and monitoring, increased accuracy, and less data entry.
These were our team’s main takeaways from the conference in terms of Sage updates however, they learnt more than just what Sage is planning for the next year. We realised the importance of face-to-face meetings and how much they can add to a relationship. Whilst this is not always possible, when the opportunity does arise it should be utilized. Our team are looking forward to developing more relationships over the next year and hopefully meet you all at Transform 2023!
