What we learned in 2024

As we wrap up 2024, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year of milestones, growth, and impact. Here’s what we’ve learned along the way:

The Importance of Leaders

Being a People Leader is no easy feat. Managing diverse, multi-generational teams in fast-paced environments leaves little time for anything else. Yet leaders are pivotal in shaping culture and driving real change.

That’s why we launched three CPD-accredited masterclasses this year—each just one hour long but designed to make a big impact. Participants earn a digital badge for each session, and since launching in Q2, we’ve awarded:

  • 200 Leading with Empathy Badges
  • 140 Driving Gender Equality Badges
  • 95 Managing Family Leave Badges

This has enabled 65 Leaders to complete all three and earn their Inclusive Leadership Certificate.

We can’t wait to see the ripple effects of this work in 2025!


The Power of Community

From International Women’s and Men’s Days to information sessions on the Gender Pay Gap and our Platform55 Summit, we’ve brought HR Leaders together to share ideas and inspire action for the workplaces of the future.

Support is Needed Now, More Than Ever

Our Q3 research showed that we still have work to do in driving equality and creating supportive workplaces.

  • Only 50% of respondents across Ireland and the UK believe their companies are genuinely committed to gender equality.
  • 84% said the mental load at home is the biggest barrier to career development.
  • Nearly 50% of people with caring responsibilities have considered leaving work.

We’re committed to diving deeper into these issues in 2025.


Delivering Impact

This year, we helped employees thrive through every life stage with 72 live sessions for our members, including:

  • Monthly Return to Work workshops for Maternity and Paternity leave.
  • Career and leadership coaching.
  • Sessions addressing challenges like child anxiety, menopause, burnout, and career growth.

For the first time ever, more dads than ever registered for our paternity workshops -?now that’s progress!

2024 brought incredible recognition for our mission to drive equality and build workplaces where people can thrive:

Growing the Platform55 Family

This year, we welcomed new clients and are now supporting over 30 companies on their journey to build equal and sustainable workplaces.

Our team grew too, with exciting new roles in tech and business development, and we’ve got big plans for 2025.
