One of the (many) amazing things about being located in Lisboa is the blooming tech landscape and access to top industry events like the Digiday Publishing Summit.
Last week, nearly 200 publishers and digital natives gathered in Lisbon to discusses their successes and challenges integrating their brands with the digital market.
The summit drew a wide scope of attendees from the publishing industry, showcasing the past, present, and future of how brands communicate with their audience. Some publishers, like UK’s The Daily Telegraph, have been producing and sharing content long before the internet era, and are learning how to adjust their sails to navigate the waters of digital. Other, much younger publishers, like Highsnobiety, are products of the digital age and are pioneering the route of online publishing.
Here are the 5 main trends that they identified for 2017. Some of them are a bit familiar...
1. Pushing Premium Content
2. The Platform Problem
3. Programatic
4. Ad Blockers
5. Video Content
