What are we doing wrong?
What are we doing wrong?
So, COVID happened about 6 months ago. We started seeing amazing growth in demand from across the globe. "On-Demand" was not one of the options but the only option for most businesses. We started getting a lot of customer complaints.
Sales teams says product is not ready
Product team says sales is doing bad sales
Marketing people say we are generating leads and sales is growing
Tech is saying we are understaffed
A few people couldn't take the pressure and left
The question many growing companies struggle with when they are facing this- what are we doing wrong?
Let me try to answer this- nothing. These are growing pains that are like the pains that you wake up with after a day of exercise. The best way to get rid of them is to exercise some more.
The right question to ask is- what do we prioritize to sustain this growth?
Let me try to answer that also- talk to your customer.
The long form of this answer is that you first need to find who your customer is. Tech's customer is product, product's customer is marketing, marketing and support's customer is sales, sales' customer is the company customer. If the whole chain works, the system works. Take the most pressing problem at hand, solve it the right way so it does not return again and again. Have faith in the system and keep at it, there is light at the end of the tunnel. But if you think about the positive impact you are having on the world, it makes it easy.
My teams make available people, services, and means that help manage relationships, resources, and data.
