What we are doing and why.

What we are doing and why.

The most important thing in life, isn’t what you’re doing. It’s who you’re doing it with, who you’re doing it for and why you’re doing it. I’ve been humbled over the last month or so by the consistent support shown to me by our Recruitment community and wider. The positivity and excitement shown for me after a few interesting years is something I at times don’t feel worthy of.

But I sit here today, my wife just going off to work, while I sit in the study and contemplate what today will bring for myself and The Talent Initiative (and ignore the dishes in the sink). I get lost for words. This isn’t something I’m used to. For those that know me, it is truly rare.

But you see, today is our 25th Wedding Anniversary. I know, we don’t look old enough to have done anything for 25 years, but I have the wedding certificate and I promise you it’s legit.

Life is interesting, it rarely goes how you expect it. Challenges are real and constant. Things pop up to test you all the damn time. Maybe I’m procrastinating writing this, but, I know how lucky I am to have someone to face all these challenges with. She’s the best boss and partner you could have. My wife is challenging, she’s inspiring, she drives me (not only crazy) but also so so so supportive. She sees things about me and situations I’ve found myself in that I just can’t see. She has more confidence in me that I have in myself. She has seen toxic environments I’ve been in, that I just cannot see and has uttered the famous words that I quote a bit. “You’re too old for that shit. Fix it or leave.”

With the Talent Initiative, we’re focused on building this. To prove I can, to prove her right, to show the kids that you can control your destiny. So with that I better stop procrastinating and start building the business some more.

Happy Anniversary my love. I love you heaps. Let’s do this!
