We are currently conducting video-conference and phone consultations with a number of concerned clients and our team is available to assist any businesses that need our help.

Our experts are now focused on some key areas that are relevant to the crisis, including:

1.    Employment – it is time for most employers to make a plan as more and more businesses are forced to close.

2.    Landlord / lease negotiations – negotiating rent reductions/abatements – there are options.

3.    Ensuring contributions of money into struggling business by owners to ‘prop up’ it up are secured – don’t throw good money at a problem and let it turn bad.

4.    Contract reviews, cancellation (e.g. Force Majeure events) and contract disputes.

5.    New insolvency laws to apply for 6 months.

  • Increase in threshold for statutory demands from $2000 - $20,000 
  • Increase in time for compliance with a statutory demand from 21 days to 6 months
  • Temporary relief for directors from any personal liability for trading while insolvent
