What Will We Do While We Wait?

Each morning when I wake up I ask myself “How do I want to contribute to this day?”
Now, some of y’all know I am a rather up-front and honest kinda gal (don’t get it twisted I use empathy and nurturing forms of communication), and some days my answer is:
I DON’T WANT TO BE HERE.
Today was one of those days.
Then I realized my daughter-in-law is literally dying and she’d give anything to be here.
And while people are neck deep (knee deep seems insufficient) in the election, going into a vortex for what will and will not happen is not going to serve us.
I have a suggestion. Think of it as an experiment.
Talk with your Self and say “Yes, I am feeling all kinds of ways right now and to respect my emotions I am asking them to respect me, I have 30 minutes (set a timer) to process what I am feeling, knowing I will get time later today to do this again for anything I miss."
Set that timer and do what you need - whether you are a verbal processor, a writing processor, or a dancing processor…use that time to express your emotions.
Then when the timer goes off shake yourself like a dog, go make a cup of tea, coffee, or lemon water set the timer for 2 hours, and do your work.
Alternate until it is time to make dinner and then ask yourself, “How did that experiment go?”
What worked
What didn’t work

Now you have a plan for tomorrow - a day where if people are any indication, it might be more intense.
Let me know what you discovered about yourself. Because I’ll be doing the same right alongside you.

If there was ever a time when Deep Listening was needed, it is right now.
The Sacred Act of Deep Listening
My approach to deep listening sessions comes from over 40 years as a spiritual teacher and medicine woman rooted in indigenous traditions.
It is distinct from therapeutic models focused on diagnosis and treatment.
Rather than analyzing problems, I create a sacred container for your inner wisdom to unfold.
My reverence for the healing power of being heard comes from generations before me.
In this spirit, there is no need for you to be anything other than your authentic self.
My role is to listen with an open heart as your story is expressed.
Through thoughtful silence, reflection and occasional open-ended questions, I support you to tap into your inner truths.
The answers you seek are within.
Being fully seen and heard enables many to find renewed hope and direction.
You can book your Deep Listening session here.
