What we do really does matter!
time. While I was out doing a training ride for this years Pan Mass Challenge I stopped at a convenience store to get a bottle of Gatorade and take a short break. While I was standing in the parking lot a gentleman walked up to me and pointed at the PMC cycling jersey that I was wearing and asked if I was riding in this years. When I said that I was he immediately got choked up and said "Thank you and all of the people involved in that ride" He then took off his cap and it was immediately obvious that he was a cancer patient! He proceeded to tell me that he is currently a patient at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and that he is alive today because of them and what the PMC does to support them. After we talked for about 15 minutes we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I was about 12 miles from home and so I had a fair amount of time to think about the things this man had to say. As sad as it is to see & talk with someone that is going through this awful battle, it was also so gratifying to see & hear first hand that we truly are helping win the fight against this awful disease! Reality may be difficult to deal with at times, but moments like this are truly a blessing! Please help us win this fight! We cannot afford not to! Please make a donation in any amount, large or small. EVERY DOLLAR IS NEEDED!!! Go to the below link to make a donation. If there is someone that you would like me to ride in memory/honor of, please send me their name and I will add it to my cycling jersey both days of the ride.
