What We Can All Do To Stop Sex Trafficking

Many people believe sex trafficking doesn't happen in the United States. Even more people believe that it doesn't happen in their hometown.

Unfortunately, most of those people are wrong.

It's silently happening all around us.

But this isn't a doomsday article. This is an article showcasing what we can do about it.

I sat down with Guardian Group, a nonprofit committed to ending the sex trafficking of women and children, to educate me on this poignant pandemic, and I learned a lot of crucial information that needs to be shared.

So let's get to it.

Before we jump to the solution, let's start with the problem: how does sex trafficking even happen in the United States?

Yikes, right? I was completely horrified by all of this information.

So it is happening, but how often is it really happening?

Well, WAY more than I expected. Guardian Group shared with me that 50 people PER HOUR buy sex in Bend, Oregon!

50!?

If there are so many people buying sex with these trafficked girls, why aren't the police doing anything about this?

Fair enough. That makes sense.

But if the police are too busy, why don't the women leave?

Oh... So they CAN'T.

How does the Guardian Group help sex trafficked women?

Sweet!

But they obviously can't do it alone. Is there anything I can do?

I know this isn't a topic most people want to think about, but it is something we need to start talking about if we ever want it to end.

I encourage you to make any and all changes you can to help fight this heinous issue. Start donating. Change your work policies. Open your eyes. Get the training. Do what you can, and we WILL move passed this.
