What way is the easiest way to migrate to Canada?

The easiest way to get to Canada depends on your reason for going to Canada, whether it is temporary or permanent. The Canadian government offers immigrants around the world a variety of immigration programs depending on their needs, whether they want to move to Canada on a temporary or permanent basis.

Immigration programs that allow immigrants to move to Canada temporarily give them temporary residence for several reasons which range from educational institutions and universities to temporary work, to visiting the country, and many more. Here are some of the main routes to get to Canada on a temporary residence basis:

  • Work Permit - For foreign skilled workers who wish to work in Canada, they can do so via a work permit issued by the Canadian government.
  • Study Permit - This type of permit is intended for students who wish to reside in Canada and continue their studies at Canadian educational institutions.
  • Super Visa - Super visa allows permanent residents and Canadian citizens to sponsor their parents and grandparents
  • Visitor Visa - With a visitor visa, immigrants can visit for a short period, whether it is for a vacation, to explore the vast wilderness, or simply to visit family or friends.?
  • Temporary Resident Permit: It allows immigrants who are inadmissible or refused entry to come to Canada if they have a valid reason and the correct set of documents.

The above visas set the stage for temporary visits to Canada, but for immigrants who wish to move to Canada permanently, there is the Permanent Residence Visa (PR). Obtaining a permanent residence visa allows its holder to live and work anywhere in the country for five years. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) offer applicants immigration programs that allow them to apply for a PR Canada visa. Some of these immigration programs are:

Express Entry Program: This is Immigration Canada's flagship program for immigrants who want to obtain a PR Canada visa. Express Entry is a points-based program that manages the profile of candidates who have applied under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Experience Class Canadian (CEC).

Each category is for a different class of qualified immigrants and each of them has different eligibility requirements and criteria. But to apply for PR Canada as a skilled immigrant, applicants must meet the 67 point eligibility program. Once they have cleared the 67 point barrier, their profile can be submitted to the Express Entry program. Using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), IRCC issues the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to eligible applicants who can meet the CRS thresholds for Express Draws.

Provincial Nomination Program: This program is aimed at the provinces/territories of Canada, which allows them to nominate highly qualified and capable immigrants to obtain a visa for permanent residence in the province. Each provincial appointment program has different eligibility requirements and criteria depending on the demands of the local labor market. Applicants who wish to settle in the province of their choice can apply under this program. Candidates who can land a provincial nomination receive 600 CRS points. With these many points, applicants receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) so that they can apply for a permanent residence visa.

Quebec Skilled Worker Program: For skilled immigrants who wish to move to the province of Quebec, they can apply for a permanent residence visa for the province of Quebec through this program. This program offers applicants two steps to apply to the Canadian PR -

The first is to obtain the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). This certificate means that the province of Quebec has selected the candidate to live and work in the province.

Second, apply for a permanent residence visa from IRCC. Submit your application to IRCC with the certificate - CSQ.

Family Sponsorship Program: This program allows permanent residents in Canada to sponsor the application of their relatives for the permanent residence visa with the help of this program. Applicants who wish to sponsor the candidacy of their relatives must be:

  • At least 18 years old;
  • Canadian citizen; OR
  • A person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Indian Act of Canada; OR
  • Permanent resident of Canada;
