What the Warehouse In-Charge Told me

The reward is the best medicine for human beings that's why we put a lot of effort into any work.

Once I went to the warehouse to issue an electronic item. The warehouse In-Charge told me to be careful when using this expensive item. I replied who the hell was to say it was an expensive item. Now the story starts from here:

One morning I went to the warehouse and I said to the warehouse In-charge I needed a reflector of retro-reflective photoelectric sensor that was imported recently. The warehouse In-Charge told me that It was an expensive item. I said," Who told you it's an expensive item?" He handed me the quotation and when I saw it he was right in place. By the way, that part was imported from Germany. It was expensive as per the figures on the paper. No doubt about that

I became dumbfounded at that time. How could it be possible? How could they charge too much against this simple reflector? I took up the case and went straight to the plant manager's room. I told him the entire story about that reflector. Hardly, the cost of that item would be around 10,000 PKR. The worth of that item would not be more than 10,000 PKR.

When I narrated that story to the plant manager, he replied It seemed impossible to recover the extra wrongly charged amount. There was no need to cry over spilled milk. I requested him to allow me to take up this case. He replied that there would not be any issue to try. I mailed the plant manufacturer and asked," Would you please tell me the exact worth of this reflector"

He behaved like hanky-panky. Once again I mailed and requested him not to beat around the bush and came to the point. At last, he replied to me and accepted that It was wrongly overcharged. He told me that he would return his money but it would take time. I said take your time, no issue. I got some sort of relief at that time. He at least agreed with his mistake. I was following him up again and again.

As day chased night and night chased day, He was only prolonging this matter and was not replying to satisfactory answer but I kept knocking him every now and then. Sometimes, he told me that the accountant was on leave. sometimes, he told me that It was the last month of the year. Sometimes, this and that and blah blah, etc. In a nutshell, He was just beating around the bush and gaining the time. I did not know why

When I got exhausted I mailed the head office and let them know the actual story. They told me that I would get my overcharged money back within 10 days. I anxiously waited for that day when I would get that amount back. I fought that case smartly and till the last ball.

The day came when I received the email of this fantastic news that I got overcharged money back. I cannot express my feelings in words. I had that sort of feeling when someone got the first salary of his career. The reward is the best medicine for the human being that's why we put a lot of effort into any work.

Now, there was a twist in this story because I endeavored for that case but someone else took the whole credit at the eleventh hour. I don't want to take his name but soon we received the email of the credit note (overcharged amount) that the gentleman forwarded that email to the boss. The problem upon problem was that that gentleman did not forward the emails that had corresponding emails below.

He forwarded an entirely new email with the attachment to the boss. He wrote the email with the words We fought the case despite giving me due credit. How could someone understand the meaning we mean my name? It was pure dishonesty. I kept myself quiet instead of fighting. I showed my patience over there but my efforts did not end well.

Do you want to know? What was the overcharged amount? It was exactly 1,300,000 PKR and got it back to my company.
