VoIP is a technology that allows a person to make calls via broadband instead of the typical phone line.
I know what you may be asking. Why would I want to use this instead of a typical analog phone or my mobile?
VoIP is a great tool to use for business owners as it allows them to free up their cell phones. VoIP also comes with a lower price tag and can be customized to the size of your team!
Even with all the fantastic benefits of VoIP, there are certainly some pitfalls. I have been coming across these issues for the last couple of months.
Having a choppy call with a client is not something that a business owner wants to happen. The choppiness comes from a lack of bandwidth.
There are VoIP bandwidth tests available to see how strong your bandwidth is. If the test shows your bandwidth isn't as terrific (as it should be) a call to your internet service provider would be the best place to start.
The VoIP is not working. This is actually a lot more common than you think, with the culprit typically being a router issue. The best fix is to make sure that the router that you are using makes VoIP calls a priority ((QoS), Quality of Service)
