Flexis to launch electric vans in 2026

Electric van manufacturer Flexis, which was established in 2024 as a joint venture between Renault, Volvo and logistics and shipping company CMACGM, is to bring its first models to market in 2026.?

Built on a versatile skateboard platform, these will comprise a panel van with two wheelbases, a chassis cab capable of supporting a range of bodies, such as box van, tipper and fridge van, and the high-roofed Step-in van.?

End-of-year used LCV market stability reported by BCA

A used LCV market which saw price volatility for much of 2024 stabilised as the year ended, according to BCA.

The auction company said the average used LCV value in December was £7,187, a fall of £92 compared with November.

Vehicle management company XLCR has provided appliance repair company NAC with a new van fleet.

The deal includes more than 35 vehicles, including Nissan Townstar, Peugeot Expert, and Citroen Berlingo vans.

Electric van MOT deferral period needed, AFP says

An official deferral period is needed for MOTs of 4.25t electric vans, with some fleets finding tests impossible to book, according to the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP).

Although a derogation means drivers normally limited to 3.5t LCVs can drive electric vans weighing up to 4.25t, these heavier vehicles are still subject to HGV rules for MOT testing. This means they must be tested at one year old, rather than three, and also face a more rigorous examination.

UK van drivers prioritising health, Volkswagen finds

Health and fitness are a priority for 86% of UK van drivers in 2025, according to research by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

A survey of 1,000 drivers found that 65% planned to make healthier food choices this year, while 57% were planning to get more exercise.
