BT Group orders around 3,500 new electric vans
An order for around 3,500 new electric vans has been announced by BT Group.
The communications company said the vans would be delivered over the next two years by manufacturers including Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, and Renault.
4.25t electric van rule changes could boost adoption, Logistics UK says
Logistics UK has welcomed a government consultation on changes to rules around 4.25t electric vans, saying it could lead to increased take-up.
Logistics UK head of infrastructure and planning policy Jonathan Walker said: “The current situation, where 4.25t electric vans are treated as HGVs in terms of MOT and driver hours requirements, is nonsensical and is limiting the adoption of cleaner electric vehicles."
Annual LCV registrations grow, but EV market share static
The number of new LCVs registered in the UK increased by 3% year-on-year in 2024, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
A total of 351,834 LCVs were registered, accounting for the biggest overall market in three years.

Converted Nissan vans join bakery fleet
Lancashire bakery has added two specially adapted Nissan Interstar vans to its fleet.
The vehicles, supplied to Morris Quality Bakers by the corporate sales team at Nissan dealer Chorley Group, began as rear-wheel drive chassis cabs, and were fitted with bespoke Luton bodies, including side doors and cantilever tail lifts, by Fosters Commercials.
Lightfoot credited with reducing Currys van fleet fuel costs
Technology retailer Currys is said to have reduced its annual van fleet fuel bill by more than £400,000 by using the Lightfoot driver coaching system.
Data from the fleet of 262 Ford Transits and 410 Iveco Dailys shows a 10.8% increase in mpg, a near 11% fall in CO2 emissions, and a 5% reduction in vehicle idling.
Telematics: Seeing the bigger picture
Established independent telematics providers are not about to be marginalised by van manufacturers’ products.
