What Van Damme Has To Do With Goal Setting

When I was about 16 years old, I had a poster of actor, Jeanne Claude Van Damme, up in my bedroom.

It was of him posing in his fighting stance, all muscular and ripped. Like this one right here.

I had that poster up, as I loved his body and I wanted to have a body like his.

I told myself…

“I want to get a body like that.”

“I will do what it takes to get a body like that.”

That poster gave me inspiration to take action.

It gave me something to aim for.

Because it was in front of me every day, it reminded me of what I wanted.

It motivated me to keep striving and working until I reached my goal…to have a body like Van Damme.

By the time I was 20, I can proudly say that I achieved that goal.

I achieved the body I wanted.

Because I had set a tangible goal, did what it took to get there and didn’t give up.

But it didn’t stop there.

I knew I could do more.

I wanted more.

So I set a new goal…to become a Victorian Natural Bodybuilding Champion.

And that’s what I did, I became a Victorian Champion…goal achieved.

But I still knew I could do more.

So I set a new goal… to become an Australian Natural Bodybuilding Champion.

By age 24, my goal was accomplished…Australian Champion I became.

Why am I telling you this?

You probably don’t want to look like Van Damme or a bodybuilder

But you’re probably not happy with the way you look.

So what should you do?

SET GOALS

Tangible goals, like “I want to lose 20lbs by this Summer”.

Write them down and put them up where you can see them.

Then take action and don’t give up.
