#VSM is the known abbreviation.
Here are the suggested steps:
1.??????Map the #Value Stream
2.??????Create the #Flow
3.??????Establish Pull
4.??????Seek Perfection
5.??????Identify the New Value by Empowering the Value Stream Management of #EMPV
[EMPV = Error Mistake Proof Verification]
This forms the end-to-end business process mapping from cradle to grave and should include every twist and turn in order to reduce or remove waste as identified throughout these processes.
We would then look at breaking these down into smaller projects better known as Kaizen Events. The Go-Look-See would empower the team to walk the process, which is better known as Gemba.
Why bother?
The save money and reduce or remove any further financial waste.
We would normally expect to identify the common wastes taken from the #TIMWOODS; though we know that complacency is what has forced these deep dive actionable projects, so should always remain at the forefront of this thinking.
Hidden waste is normally a hide-and-seek which has deliberately been allowed through into these processes either because of a lack of knowledge, inground laziness, or to camouflage something possibly more sinister.
From the #Gemba Walk(s) we will then be able to pull data from the #LPA’s [Layered Process Audits] to better understand our identification of gaps within these processes and reduce or stop any financial bleed.
So if you need to save money, don’t make your employees redundant, involve them, include them and identify that they are part of the Value Stream.
