What Value Do I Bring

Define oneself by the impact or value of what one does for others who need help.

I am writing this in order to explain what I have to offer my network for discussions and talks. This was inspired by my LinkedIn colleagues Roland Rust. The above quote is what Simon Sinek would call a "Purpose Statement". Purpose defines who you are and what impact you want to make in the world each morning you wake up from bed.

I'd like to impact the world (defined by my LinkedIn network) in a positive way. If you read through my content and you think I can help in anyway, let’s have a chat. I believe that in this age of transformation, the world needs change makers who work together.

I create & grow corporate startup and innovation ecosystems

My colleague Simon Chan wrote this interesting article about Digital Transformation. I believe in Version 4 - Business Model Digital Transformation. To achieve it, you need to have to transform the DNA of the organization to allow people within to see new things that are possible and how to achieve them via technology.

In order to evolve the DNA, I establish and develop an ecosystem covering "Creation - Experimentation - Execution". They are based upon the establishment and support of corporate startups and innovation teams. Within these ecosystems, I help to synthesize aspects of design thinking, blue ocean, lean startup, agile, etc and help you get real value from creation to execution.

It is these corporate startup teams, who tackle problems and challenges, that create new innovation and new market opportunities. It is they who experiment and learn in rapid small scale iterations, to refine business models and technologies, that are then scaled up to launch new products & services.

I am always part of a team

I believe in the power of teams to transform organizations. Teams empowered with the new DNA who then become agents of transformation in their own department. I serve the team who are working in corporate startups. I serve the team who will initiate and conduct transformation. Utilizing my past experience in business processes reengineering and solution architecture, I help teams to think about the Why, What, and How.

I coach and mentor corporate startups to succeed

I believe in the power of learning and empowering others to experience their own aha moments so they can drive their own success. This involves coaching corporate startup teams to live the discipline of design thinking and blue ocean to see problems differently and find new opportunities. In addition, it is about unleashing the creative confidence (as IDEO David & Tom Kelley would say) using various innovation technique to generate breakthrough ideas. And finally, it is about instilling the courage to not fear failure and accept continuous learning using lean startup and agile.

I create new rituals to transform culture

I believe the culture of an organization can only be changed when people experience new rituals on a regular basis. Rituals are activities that bring people together to introduce new behaviors, have a support system to foster these new behaviors, and inspire others to also make the behavior change. This is based upon the application of IDEO's Leading For Creativity, which I am certified in. Transformation requires a new culture, which can only be achieved via a roadmap of rituals to accelarate the new culture.

I have a dream

I have a dream that every company in the world succeeds in their Transformation - Digital and Business Model. I have a dream that everyone plays a key role in the transformation. To do that, leaders need to look at the Strategy, Architecture, and Execution of the transformation in a different way.

I know and work with a lot amazing people who have a lot of experience. Everyday, we evolve our understanding of the world by learning from one another in an amazing network. And we share a strong vision of what digital transformation truly is and how companies can take ownership for their transformation and succeed.
