WHAT ARE THE UX FRAMEWORKS? WHY USE THEM?

UX Frameworks

Creates the basic structure that focuses & supports the problem you’re trying to solve. Simply frameworks are maps of the design process. Using UX frameworks we can get a lot of things. UX frameworks?Show clear directions,?make everybody on the same line,?save time for the design team,?and?save effort for the design team.

There are so many UX frameworks. let’s talk about the main three UX frameworks.

1. ?Five Elements of UX design

In this framework, each layer is dependent on the one below it. This five elements of the UX design Framework is one of the most common framework among UX designers. With this framework, they build successful products.

Skelton -?UX designers put together the previous levels to create visual design and make sure everything is smooth and information are User friendly.

Structure-?UX designers figure out how to organize the design and how the user will interact with it.

Scope -?UX designers set their goals and functional requirements and content requirements.

Strategy -?UX designers gather information to define the user needs and business goals.

2. User-centered Design Framework

In this framework of UX, designers put users front and center in each stage of the design process. This closeness with users helps UX designers for understanding users, what they want and what they don’t want. There are four steps in this framework.

Understand -?Identify the user’s needs and context around them. In this step, UX designers research how users interact with the product or similar products. UX designers need to find answers to these questions.

  1. who are the Users and end-users?
  2. what are their problems & goals?
  3. what are they about?

Specify - Identify the specific requirements for business and Users. Based on user research UX designers narrow down which end-user problem is the most important to solve. Also, in this step, UX designers understand metrics of success by having a clear idea about business requirements and user requirements.

Design - Designing the user interface. In this step, UX designers start to design solutions for users. First of all, they will create sitemaps, user flows, and mockups, and choose icons and colors after collecting assets they design the user interface.

Evaluate?- Test it with people. Now, is the time to analyze and evaluate design against users & business goals. Testing on real people is the best way to identify the success of the design. If they find the design didn’t meet the goals and requirements that they set on the product, Don’t worry that’s okay. UX designers will be iterating.

Iteration -?This is the key to this process. First of all, let’s define the iteration. Iteration means “doing something again, by building on the previous version and making tweaks”. Sometimes UX designers go back to step one and start it again with the knowledge about the previous time.

With this user-centered design framework, UX designers can create products people want to use.

Empathize -?UX designers conduct user interviews, surveys, and observation sessions to get an idea about the users and end-users. Then they discover what end users need from the product and try how to think and feel like them.

Define -?UX designers define the problem by creating problem statements. A problem statement means a “ clear description of the user’s need that should be addressed.” This entire step is based on user research.

Ideate -?In this step, they generate ideas on how to solve the users’ problems. UX designers come up with as many ideas as they have. It doesn’t matter about the quality of the idea, because here it all is about the quantity. By doing that they come up with amazing solutions. And then they narrow down the ideas and choose a few good ideas.

Prototype-?Now UX designers have a clear goal in their mind about prototypes in this step, they create low-fidelity prototypes, high-fidelity prototypes, and Visual designs.

Test -?Finally they test the prototype with users. Then UX designers take feedback from the users. Based on users’ feedback they make improvements or come up with completely different new ideas. If they can’t proceed with the prototype they go back to the previous step and conduct more tests until they find the best solution.

Also, this design thinking framework is non-linear.
