What Is the Upper World?
It is impossible to explain the upper world. I can only say one thing: what you now feel is a feeling in your desires, and your current desires are miniscule.
You can feel the upper world solely by expanding your desires through their connection with others. That is, within yourself, you unite the hearts, and the minds of the world next to the desires, in order to realize such desires. Everyone else also conducts themselves accordingly.
After having gathered the whole world within, everyone then interconnects. Then, in a state where each individual represents a squaring of the unification, each individual once again connects with everyone else. That then becomes the third spiritual degree, i.e., the third degree on the ladder that rises into the upper world.
There are 125 such degrees. In other words, each spiritual degree is the incorporation of multiplicities of souls embedded into each other.
Imagine what a powerful and sublime feeling you achieve when you simply absorb all the hearts and minds of everyone in the world. Then, that entire attainment increases by a square power, a fourth power, and so on. This is how collective consciousness forms, the common system that is called “the soul of Adam HaRishon” in the wisdom of Kabbalah . Its power has no quantitative expression.

How Do We Learn from Mistakes?
We can reach an understanding of something when we understand two opposites in combination.
We need to simultaneously perform an analysis, separation, synthesis and combination. Only when we undergo such a process can we attain an understanding of a certain phenomenon.
Otherwise, we have no feeling of that which we wish to comprehend. The fact is that we wish to feel something we do not have. It is not in us, and we have a negative attitude toward it. When we receive it, we then feel it within us.
There is our self with its desire, and something that fills this desire. Then, two opposites know the meaning of one without the other, and one with the other. This is what understanding consists of. It is why we always give children a variety of exercises and present them with various difficulties so that they accumulate, construct and develop.
