What unreasonable people (in cyber) do

What unreasonable people (in cyber) do

Last week I wrote to you about C R A Z Y and revealed just how big my ambition is for The Source, my latest venture for women in cyber and businesses who value them. This week I want to build on that, sharing a bit more about The Source, and beginning with a quote from George Bernard Shaw.

"Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world. Unreasonable people attempt to adapt the world to themselves. All progress, therefore, depends on unreasonable people"

I consider myself to be an unreasonable person, and being this way is how I came to create The Source, my solution to make women in cyber standard not exception.

The reason we’re called The Source is because it means the place you go to first, or someone or something that supples information, or that connects things. And that’s what we’re doing. We’re a container for women that’s build on limitless potential. I liked the name because it has spiritual connotations too, and I know these are needed for modern, progressive business. The water theme spoke to me because water is pure, it’s sacred and critical for survival, just like women. It’s the driving force of all nature, just as we are the driving force in our own life.

The Source, as you may know is in "launch mode". What you may not be aware of is that our doors are only open for ONE more week. So if you've not watched my short video to get the vibe of what we're about, here's your chance.

Warning, blatant sales plug...

If you're a woman and want to join, please go to https://bit.ly/TheSourceSalesPageX

If you're a partner or business who values women in cyber, we need to talk! Book a discovery call and learn how we can help you succeed in terms of attracting, developing and or retaining more women in cyber. We have sponsorship, corporate membership and consulting solutions.

If you're not ready to do either of those things yet, perhaps you've got more questions. Some people have been asking me for a one pager that articulates what The Source is about, so with a great marketing team by my side, we've created this for you.

Other people have wanted to know how The Source is different to other women networks. Here's my answer.

Most women in cyber groups exist for entry level women. At The Source, we serve women at all stages of their career (including entrepreneurs) so you'll get guidance on your career path along with useful tools to get you charged up, focused, clear, and working in your power. We've created lots of useful Resources for you and depending on your membership level, lots of different Communities for you to join.

At The Source, we want you to “be you in the workplace!” It’s one of our mantras. But please understand, The Source isn’t just a place where you go to learn and consume. It’s a place where you go to contribute, partner, co-create, collaborate, connect, and have fun.

At The Source, we are here to do business differently. Our vibe is aspirational, courageous, explorative, experimental, transformative, bold, supportive and spiritual. The Source feels different – it’s a place where you come to because you want to be replenished, energised, uplifted, inspired, and empowered. But it’s not all work and no play. We build friendships, have two-way and group interactions and fun together through our events.

At The Source, we believe we are the change so we are about ease, flow, and we’re forever saying, “be like water.” I mentioned it earlier. The reason why is because water can get to anywhere it wants to, and that’s what we want for you. We want you to ride the currents, surf the waves, and send out ripples of change into the world. And if need be, to be a tsunami, washing away outdated ways of being. Just, like the ocean, your potential is limitless.?

At The Source, we align to the UN Sustainability Goals 5, 10 and 16, and we have a women’s foundation for scholarships. We operate with a give to gain philosophy, and from a place of plenty. We believe that we are blessed, we have more than enough, and we are better together. But we kick ass too! :) That’s one of the reasons we unite with other women’s groups, coaches and trainers, because we know we’re more joined up and stronger that way.

Although we offer training and mentor matching we are so much more than a learning or mentor matching platform for women in cyber. We are a community and act as a channel, so women can get what they need fast. So, no more trawling through the Internet for hours looking for information or contacts. The Source is your short cut, and my team and I know you’re going to find it so convenient and refreshing.?

And just in case you think we are biased (because we are), here's what CISO Simon Legg thinks about it...

Finally, if you're not a woman or business who values them, thanks for being with us on this mission. At The Source we value you and are quietly working on other solutions you may find useful.

So, what's next?

About The Source & Our Mission

The Source exists to help women and businesses who value them in cybersecurity. It's where we come together to add value, not point fingers. It's where we collaborate, unify and create communities that are positive, accessible and valuable. It's where we empower women to build their networks, grow their skills and access essential resources. And it's where we help forward- thinking businesses to draw on a rich, diverse pool of female talent.

The Source operates on a global basis and while most of our clients include some of the world's best-known brands, many of whom are listed on the global stock indices, we also have a selection of start-up and mid-range organisations. Our solutions incorporate consulting, training, mentoring, certification and talent acquisition. They align to the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5, 10 and 16. We offer a range of services and tailor our engagements to meet your needs.??
