What is under the black Glue?

Well, sometimes i was asked by customers what is it under the black glue on back of LCD module.

The Answer is Naked IC

Photo below will reveal the answer to you

This is a kind of package technique of IC. Put IC on PCB,bonding with gold thread, drop black glue, put in oven and make the glue dry out.

Bonding naked IC is cheaper than SMT. But more durable as the IC is protected by black glue.
