What Type of Leader are You?

We've all heard the age-old question: are leaders born or made?

One of my favorite quotes by author and leadership expert Jim Kouzes is “I’ve never met a leader who was not born.”

I wholeheartedly believe that anyone can be a leader.

If you’ve embraced your leadership identity, do you know what it looks like when you lead best? 

Do you shine as a leader when you’re hitting milestones? 

Are a leader who speaks up, making sure others are heard? 

Do you lead best when you’re able to hold a team together? 

Are you the type who leads best with information that you can analyze to lead the team to victory?

The Four Leadership Domains - which are you?

• Executing: you make things happen
• Influencing: you take charge, speak up and make sure others are heard
• Relationship Building: you build strong relationships that hold a team together and make it greater than the sum of its parts
• Strategic Thinking: you absorb and analyze information that informs better decisions

This month, in celebration of Black History Month, I’ll be interviewing visionary Black women every Thursday on IG LIVE @thehappycactusclub (starting today at 7pm pst!). Some of these women I know well, some I hardly know at all. Our agenda, as I’ve described it to each of them is: ALL YOU, ALL ME.
