Step 4: Publication in Trademark Journal
If the Registrar of Trademark is satisfied or accepted with the trademark application filed in TM-A, it is published in the Trademark Journal and Application changed to Trademark Status-Accepted & Advertised . This publication allows any interested parties to oppose the registration of the trademark within a period of four months from the date of publication in form TM-O and trademark Status- Opposed.

Step 5: Opposition Proceedings (if applicable)
If an opposition is filed against the trademark registration, the opposition proceedings begin. Both parties will present their arguments and evidence before the Trademark Registrar, who will make a final decision based on the merits of the case.
Step 6: Registration Certificate
If there are no oppositions or if the opposition proceedings are successfully resolved in favour of the trademark owner, the Registrar will issue a registration certificate and Application changed to Trademark Status-Registered. The Trademark Registration certificate is proof of ownership of the trademark and gives the owner exclusive rights to use the trademark for the goods or services for which it is registered.
The timelines involved in the trademark registration process can vary depending on the efficiency of the Trademark Registry and the complexity of the application. Typically, it takes about 18 to 24 months to complete the entire process, assuming that there are no objections or oppositions. However, if an opposition is filed, the process can take much longer.
