What is the Torpedo Method?

 

The Torpedo method requires a minimum of time and rigor, but gives the expected results. It does not make up stories. Just like a steamroller, you must first start the engine, never stop it and change gears until you have reached the cruising speed. At the beginning, it does not roll very fast, but when everything is well oiled, this steamroller will crush everything on its path.

Let me explain you this method and be ready to achieve measurable results. This method works for any type of businesses with a sales force.

The periscope

First, try to imagine yourself on board a submarine. You raise the periscope out of the water and as you make a 360 degree rotation, you spot an enemy ship. You have on board only one missile. You will not have a “second chance”.

Now, let’s try to apply this analogy to our work method. The first thing to do is to find the target. So the first step is therefore to target, but also to know more about this target. Whatever the work method suggested to increase sales, targeting is the first and the most important step.

What is the sector you would like to target? The manufacturing sector or the construction one or maybe the life sciences field? Do you want to meet with the owner of a company with 25 employees or more? To better target, we must first take the inventory of several databases and cross-check them. This methodology will enable you to build the initial list to work with.

Build only one list of prospects with the criteria you are looking for: revenues, number of employees, location, etc.
