What Is Card Tokenization?

The Reserve Bank of India has been implementing card tokenization from January 1, 2022. Tokenization is the process of exchanging sensitive data for non-sensitive data, by converting it into a series of randomly generated numbers known as "tokens". The token is a random string of data that has no essential or usable value or meaning. It is a unique identifier that stores all relevant information about the data without compromising its security.
