What time would you tell your kid to be home?
This is a question I’ll use all the time when people ask me:
“Why are you so lax about nutrition?”
Simply put, compare it to your own kids
- stubborn
- strong minded
- sarcastic
- cheeky
Would you say they're reluctant to do whatever you tell them?
Why is that?
Discipline
See, if you’re TOO harsh with yourself
You’ll rebel, resist and fight tooth and nail with anything we put down as a rule
But
If you’re on a balanced plan, then guess what happens?
It’s EASIER to stick to
Imagine that you’ve offered your kid two approaches to getting them to come home on time
Approach A) "Get home by 7pm tonight or you're grounded"
Approach B) "What time do you think is reasonable to get home"
Which of these approaches would cause more resentment or outright ignoring of the rules?
For the first part though, just stick to a few flexible rules
