Now Charlotte how in the world can I make this happen?
Start by assessing everything you have on your plate at the moment. Ask yourself these questions:
How good are you at organizing your time so that the important stuff can be done well?
Can you balance your time by having different activities in between tasks?
When you do create that time to work on something can you stay focused and on task?
Are you able to finish?
Once you have the answer to those questions the next steps are:
Prioritization: Choose the task that is a must-do for today and which can be left for when time allows.
Scheduling: Now that you know what needs to get done pick a time when you will be doing this task. Make sure you are giving yourself a realistic timeframe and that you are completely focused and engaged in said tasks or activities.
Sticking with it: The most important thing you can do with time management is stick to your schedule. Being your own boss means that you can pick your own schedule and choose where and where to work not that you get to not work all week and then stress out one day.? I mean if this is what you like all power to you but if you are reading this is because you probably are looking for some structure on your long to-do list.
It is not good enough to just know everything that needs to get done. You need to know when where and how you are going to get everything done.
The key to time management is to focus on results rather than the number of activities or tasks you have to complete on a daily basis.
