What are Test Cases (Agile projects)?
In the Agile world, working software is favored above comprehensive documentation, but it does not mean there is no documentation involved. It is important that Software is tested before it is shipped out. For software to be properly tested, a Test Case is required. And a Test Case is a document.
What is a Test Case?
A Test Case is a document that contains a set of actions performed/executed on a system to verify a particular feature or functionality of the system. A Test Case has Test Case parameters. Companies write Test Cases with different styles but some basic Test case parameters must be in the document. The document should include basic parameters like identification/date, test steps; test data, prerequisite, actual results, expected result, Test Case description, and priority level.
Yes, Test Cases are written in the Agile project the same way as the other project methodology (Waterfall)...A well-written Test Case should be easy to understand
Test Case is written by members of the Quality Assurance (QA) team or the Testing team. There is no special way or different way to write a Test Case in an Agile project. Writing test cases varies depending on what the test case is measuring or testing but my advice is, like any other documents in Project Management, write your Test Case with the reader (the Target Audience, Stakeholder, etc) in view.
