What is Tarot coaching?
Hi LI family,
Sorry for taking so long since the last newsletter.
For some reason, this newsletter became "so important" that in my mind each article must have near-perfection value provided, which takes a lot of time to create and eventually it felt like it takes too much time to create.
Also because till now I have been writing these articles mostly in 1 go, that meant at least 1-3h sit down (which felt like 6-8h).
Now that this is out of the way I wanted to share my recent experiences around Tarot coaching.
When I first started doing it about 2 years ago, I just developed my system (combining tarot readings with coaching) that made sense and just went out and helped people.
It did not even cross my mind to do "market research". So when I did my first search sometime last year, it looks like no one is doing it. Honestly, there were a couple of people who claimed it, however, their offer was a tarot reading with coaching elements. This is the opposite of what I do: I do a coaching session with a Tarot element. And because of that, this system can be used by any religion unless the following things are not allowed there:
? personal development
? talking with people
? sharing views about artwork
Most times people get their answer without any need to have any knowledge about tarot or symbolism. Other times they already have this knowledge and they chose to use it.
But before we go into what exactly tarot coaching is, I want to spend some time to tell what it is not.
What tarot coaching is NOT?
It's not evil.
It's not just superstition and it's not future prediction.
It's not a magic pill that will solve all your problems and tell you all the answers
In conclusion: Tarot is not a reason to avoid facing inner fears, because someone said it's evil.
What is tarot coaching?
It's a coaching technique that allows a person to get more clarity and insight on any previously determined question. And tarot cards are a tool in this technique.
Traditionally this tool consists of 78 cards. If you are ok with playing poker or any other regular playing card game, then you are also ok to "play" with Tarot cards. Because 56 regular playing cards are actually a subset of 78 Tarot cards (56 + 22).
There are countless tarot decks out there and the biggest difference between them is the design and actual names of cards. Most of them are based on classical principles of 78 card deck: 56 cards consisting of 4 suits and 22 major arcana cards.
You can look at Tarot coaching as a card game. Just because you use the same 78 cards, does not mean you are playing the same game.
And as I mentioned before. Yes, there are now many other Tarot coaches out there, however, it does not mean that all of them are playing the same game.
And especially when it comes to coaching, even though the outcome always is the same (help the client get what they want & need), the journey of how to get there can be radically different.
Structure of Tarot coaching session
So from now on I will be describing Tarot coaching and how I have developed it and use it for my clients.
Let's go through each stage separately.
Connection
The connection could be as simple as saying hello or a quick chat to establish where my client is at the moment.
This also depends on if this is our first session or client working with me long term for a specific outcome (i.e. 6-month life coaching package)
Determining the question (Q)
The outcome of this part is mutual agreement that the answer to the Q asked will deliver the most value so the client can get maximum benefit to getting what they want.
This means I as a coach will ask guiding Qs to get an understanding of what exactly the client wants and make sure my client is asking for exactly that.
Making sure that the Q is open (NOT a yes/no Q) and specific enough to leave room for improvement, but not too specific so that there is only one way how this could happen.
Let's explore this with a couple of examples.
? Will I get married?
? When will I get married?
? Will I get married to X?

? What should I do to get married with X?
? What can I do to get happily married to a spouse of my dreams?
An important part is that client speaks out loud his question, as resistance or reluctance to ask for what he wants shows potential mental blocks which would block them also from taking the right action further down the road. Also important that they use their own words.
To speed up the process I can suggest a sample Q's based on our previous conversation, especially when the client becomes blank and confused.
Picking a card
I love this part because there are so many different ways how to make a choice. And each person has their own character which is reflected in the process of choosing.
To give a simple illustration;
Person A:
Person B:
Person C:
Person D:
Person E:
Most of my Tarot coaching sessions these days are online over a video call and clients are simply guiding my hands as if theirs. And this way works magically.
Over the years of time, I have come to the conclusion that in most cases one card is enough to get the answer because most of the work has already been done by choosing a great question.
Coaching with the card
My system is completely different from anything I have seen out there regarding this aspect.
I do exactly what a great coach would do. I listen.
No, not to the card speaking to me or my guardian angels of some spirit from a specific constellation.??
As fun and entertaining as these skills are, I believe that the most important person in a coaching session is the coachee. Therefore I listen to my client.
At this point, I give my client instruction to just speak out their mind and heart. Anything that comes to their mind. Any thought, feeling, memory, and association is welcome because we already have programmed the subconscious mind to deliver an answer to the Q. And I even encourage you to forget the question in the first place.
As the client speaks I listen, take notes and connect the dots: how everything relates to the answer to the question.
Some times client gets the answer just by reflecting on what was said.
Other times I need to reflect back on what I heard.
And on bit more complicated cases where the client is not ready for coaching and gets the answer from within, they need more of a therapy approach or consultative advice.
Sometimes when a client comes for a Tarot coaching session we don't even get to the card-picking part, because just by going through the process of questioning, the client gets the insight and clarity they came for.
Review & act
Once the client has gotten an emotionally charged answer which brings clarity to the Q at hand, to conclude the session we review the main takeaways from the session. And after that, we agree upon the most productive action steps and any objections and obstacles that might occur and need handling.
Conclusion
Tarot coaching is a type of coaching where tarot cards are used as a tool to access the subconscious mind.
As a result of that hidden parts of the mind are revealed, bringing clarity and deep insights.
Because answers come from a coachee, this method delivers results that are uniquely tailored to the person who is asking the question. (As opposed to consulting where a consultant gives advice based on their experience, which is not directly applicable in a context in which the coachee finds themselves.)
This method does not rely on pre-set descriptions and interpretations of cards, therefore almost any type of cards could be used in these sessions, provided that they stimulate the mind.
Have it magical!
