I’m sorry to break the bubble here as I’m not going to say being successful is easy and all you have to do is, ‘123 and hey presto you’ll be earning £50k a month and have customers knocking down your door’. Honestly it doesn’t work like that, well very rarely.
So now we’ve got that clear, let’s discuss what success actually means TO YOU.
You don’t need to give two Tiddlywinks what success means to the businesses you know on social media or in real life. It only matters to you.?
First of all, take out one minute right now to right down one sentence to define your own success. One minute = one sentence. GO!
Okay now we’ve got that done, we can really unpack the strategies, actions, approaches and behavious that are going to lead to your unique path of success. Remember to keep your Success Sentence close by so you can check it, it’s your own personal sat nav to success.
From my many years of business and the many wonderful businesses I’ve worked with, as well as oodles of input from my amazing coach, these are the things that I would consider to be most important when reaching for those stars.
HAVE A PLAN
YOUR SUCCESS SENTENCE
2. Your Success Sentence remains the same. The various different paths and routes to get there are varied and can change often.
YOUR WHY
3. Everyone talks about ‘finding your why’ (I hear you sigh, again!) honestly it really is important as it focuses your direction and your motivation. Your why drives you and keeps you going. After all without this direction, the hard times will be doubly hard. I don’t want you to ever give up, so dig deep, find that why and write it big and bold on the wall above your desk. Look at it daily.
CLARITY
4. 1,2 & 3 will give you clarity. This will help you feel confident and focused as well as helping your audience understand what you do and how your services or products will be useful for them.
PERSERVERNACE
5. Two P’s: perseverance and persistence.?
CONSISTENCY
6.Be consistent. If you’re flitting from one thing to another like an excited butterfly, you are most probably guaranteed to make little progress if any.

COMMUNITY
7. Find support. A coach, mentor, accountability buddy, a community. Little neat plug here for my Membership The Tribe. We’re a small supportive community of kind and generous women all working towards our own version of success. (join us for a taster networking session here).
SYSTEMS
8. Have a system. Ideally it’s tried and tested, it has automated features, functions in a smooth efficient way and frees you up to focus on doing what you do best. Your lovely system avoids you having any great big gaping holes in your business, where for example, potential customers could fall through, never to be seen again! It’s watertight.
BEING ORGANISED
9. Get oganised. A disorganisd workspace or/and a disorangisd mind will just mean you’ll feel muddled and stressed. Dedicate time to being Miss Neat & Tidy.
“For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned”. ~ Benjamin Franklin
COMPETITION
10. Check your competition. You need to know what your potential customers are comparing you to. Don’t be naive and think that what you have is special. I mean it is. Although remember people will be weighing up your offer and others in their decision making process. Be aware of what else is out there. This doesn’t mean you do what they do, far from it, but do equip yourself with this knowledge.
MENTAL WELLBEING
11.Take a break. Self care and looking after your mental wellbeing are crucial in performing at your best. Being a successful business owner does not mean at any costs. Your physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing comes first.
BE BOLD
12. Dare to be different. Be confident in your decisions, courageous in your beliefs and brave in your actions. Be strong, check your Success Sentence (100’s of times if necessary) and every day - keep going!

2 年I love this. Especially the organising bit! I’m so good at organising for others but I sometimes neglect myself!!
