What It Takes To Solve Your Most Stubborn Problem

What It Takes To Solve Your Most Stubborn Problem

When I was 23, I was going through a hell of a quarter-life crisis.

I was suicidal, depressive, and was fighting with my boyfriend every single day. He couldn't understand me.

I pulled a Britney and cut off my hair in the bathroom. (This was before she did hers! When she did, I knew how she felt).

My bestie from uni was trying to stop me.

It was a hell of a life.

I was going to therapy all the time, but nothing could help this "intangible" dissatisfaction.

I had just graduated from university and I couldn't figure why I wasn't happier than before. After all, I prepped for this moment since high school.

I did what was supposed to make me happy, but it made me feel worse than anything.

Around the same time, I came in touch with a cousin from my maternal mother's side of the family who I didn't know when I was growing up. When we met, she gave me a book, "A Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. I hated anything deemed "religious" and hated the word "spiritual." So I threw it aside. She asked me if I read the book multiple times, and I hadn't. I kept avoiding answering her question.

The title of the book kept lingering in my mind, but I kept rejecting it, because I decided I hated Christian and spiritual stuff.

The problem with being in a shitty stage is that you reject the paths and suggestions that will actually help you. Your mindset drives you to do the same thing over and over again, keep failing, and you keep suffering. You have nothing but your self-righteousness and "being strong" to celebrate, in the middle of the mess. Then you believe you're perpetually "broken."

I still wonder what would have happened if I had read that book.

It's hard to say, yet I believe that it would have saved me almost 10 years of dissatisfaction that I kept fighting against, beating around the bush, facing the problem with the same ineffective methods, not making traction in my life.

When I accepted "spiritual" work, which is essentially, what the subconscious mind is all about, that's when I started resolving my issues from the core. Not just accepting it and going through the motions, but accepting it, committing to it daily, and and applying it deeply.

It's the only thing that works when resolving an "existential" problem.

To heal your stubborn, persisting life and career problems for good, you have to become humble. You have to do something that is NOT YOU and far from your current mindset. It feels like you're taking a massive risk. You have to do something that gives you resistance, chills, and a gut-wrenching reaction.

To end a recurring problem, you have to look at the problem as a result of a series of decision making on your part. What you're suffering from are not the circumstances that give you pain. You're actually suffering from your mindset.

What you perceive as pain is just data resulting from your way of thinking, experiencing, and making decisions.

Overriding the "decision" system of your mind, is a commitment to becoming "not you." You can't possibly have the desired results, being who you've been. That means you need to take action that feels far from what you've been doing.

It also means that it's time to face what you've been greatly resisting and evading.

Every time I made the best decisions in my life and business, it was the result of not being who I thought I was, facing concepts I immediately rejected and resisted against, and making choices that were "not me" at the time.

This is the only way to level up.

And this is also what is required of you.
