What Systems Do You Need To Run Your Business?

"Systems" is a broad term that can often feel vague and overwhelming. However, at its core, your systems are simply the collection of processes and workflows that make your business happen.
The truth is, you already have systems in place—whether they’re intentional or not. But here's the kicker: you might not love how much work your current systems are demanding from you.
A simple way to think about systems is to align them directly with your business goals and objectives. For every big-picture goal you’re trying to achieve, you need smart systems to support you—especially if you want to avoid unnecessary stress and burnout.
So, what are the big-picture goals in most businesses? For many, they boil down to five key areas:
Or to put it another way: Marketing, Sales, Delivery, & Operations.
It sounds simple, right? And yet, the effectiveness of your business hinges on having the right systems in place for each of these areas. When people ask me what systems they need in their business (assuming they have an aligned business model and a proven offer), I always encourage them to start with the systems that help them do any of the above easier, faster, and better.
And yes, in that exact order.
Of course, if you find yourself with more clients than you know what to do with, you may want to start with improving your delivery systems first.
So, what systems are you currently working on in your business? Or better yet, what’s at the top of your list? Share your thoughts and let’s keep the conversation going!
