What is success?

What is success?

I believe that putting a man on the moon and bringing him safely back is a great success. Success can be measured in various ways, and my example of putting a man on the moon and bringing him safely back is indeed considered a great success. It is a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and determination.

How did it start?

The achievement of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to Earth was the result of a long chain of decisions, personal effort, and the collective effort of an entire nation. It all began with the GI Bill (1944), which enabled many war veterans to pursue higher education, resulting in a pool of highly qualified graduates working on innovations and driving technological advancements across universities and the market. This, in turn, contributed to a vast number of products released on the market - in combination with good economic prospects - led to an economic boom.

The Quest

When President John F. Kennedy announced that the United States had the common goal of reaching the moon and returning safely, the country was prepared. NASA embarked on a quest that required the collaboration of skilled individuals from various domains. Through their collective efforts, numerous innovations were made, leading to groundbreaking advancements in physics, engineering, mathematics, and more. The successful mission to the moon stands as a testament to human ingenuity and determination.

Why is the moon landing a success?

The landing in itself is, of course, a remarkable achievement. However, the entire journey, encompassing both the minor and major failures and setbacks, as well as the personal and national successes, is what truly defines the success of this endeavor.

So it is not only the result that counts but also how many you encourage, empower and develop. It can be your family and friends, your team, your county - or even your country.
