What success looks like to you

What is your definition of success?

Think about those who have financial success and money for all the things they desire. Money certainly does bring some life satisfaction, but it is not a guarantee of fulfillment. I’ve come across too many people who have lost sight of what they truly value as a result of chasing the almighty dollar.

Women who juggle so much at home and at work often share their challenges of:

?

? working long hours with few results

? having too little personal time

? not having enough time with the kids, partner, special friends and family

? so much of their spare time is taken up by chores, and

? their guilt or exhaustion when there is time to relax.

?

To me, the definition of success is living life according to your values. Those women who strive, every day, to have both achievement and fulfilment at work and at home are to be supported, encouraged and thanked. After all, as Robert Collier once wrote, “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”?

I wrote this for International Women’s Day in 2014, and I feel like this is a topic that’s worth talking about no matter the occasion:

Who help us feel better and make us go higher!

To the women who work from morn until late,

Who juggle so much without drama or hate.

To the women who give — sometimes too much.

Who fight for equality with love and a touch.

To the women who stand up with courage to speak,

Who create opportunities both bright and unique.

?

To the women and men who support others to shine,

You are true believers — keep going — it’s divine!
