What story are you telling yourself?

What story are you telling yourself?

I’m writing to you this morning from Buffalo, NY (my hometown) after spending last week in NYC for Hay House’s Author Mastermind. I’m buzzing with excitement about all I have learned and shared in the presence of my friends and colleagues.

I remember the first time I attended, back in 2018, thinking I didn’t belong. Wondering how I got included to play with the big dogs. Telling myself a story that I was inadequate. But, the truth is, I deserved to be there just as much as anyone else. And I’m grateful to be here now, knowing my worth.

In this week’s edition of The Practice, you’ll have an opportunity to explore the stories you tell yourself that hold you back. And, the truth you need to remember.

It's time to claim the confidence you deserve and I'm here to show you how.

In my FREE?Transformation Equation Method?Guide, I give you the exact process I use to coach thousands on how to discover your desires plus exercises and action steps to claim your confidence and put yourself first.

Storytelling has been around for centuries, dating as far back as 36,000 years ago. Throughout history it’s been shown how deeply rooted storytelling is in our human nature and we’ve seen the growth that comes from sharing these stories.

However, not all of our stories are rooted in truth.

The stories we tell ourselves, about ourselves, are often false. We may not intentionally create these false narratives, however our subconscious is behind the scenes doing all the work.

We fabricate our stories based on long-held ideas we’ve created about the way the world works and our role within it, otherwise known as beliefs. We carefully craft our beliefs based on our experiences and what we made those experiences?mean?about?ourselves.

For example, you may have received feedback from a boss on a project you worked really hard on. Instead of acknowledging the constructive points, you immediately tell yourself the story that you’re not a good employee, you don’t do quality work, or maybe you even believe they don’t like you anymore.

At face value you may see these stories as true, but when you dig deeper you’re able to uncover what’s really at the root of your stories, a limiting shadow belief of not being good enough.

This is simply a story, a conclusion you’ve drawn about yourself, that’s holding you back!

Changing your beliefs is an inside job, and today you have the chance to bring your limiting beliefs to the surface and shift the stories you’re telling yourself, so you can embrace your truth.

Identify a circumstance or situation in your life right now, where you are feeling dissatisfied, stuck, frustrated, or blocked?

In the presence of this circumstance or situation, what story do you tell yourself about why your life is this way?

Stepping out of the story, what is the truth?

The only thing keeping your limiting belief alive is that you believe it.

When you commit to uncovering your limiting beliefs, you shift how you view the world and own?your?powerful role within it.

In this episode of?Your Permission Prescription, I dive deep into the dual roles I hold in my life: Master Coach/Trainer and Author. I share the advantages and opportunities that came from my own personal development and how combining these roles allows you to gain insight on how to change your life and the lives of your readers.

Listen to Your Permission Prescription: Episode 123 to discover the complimentary connection between coaching and authorship.
