What writers can do on their own, to submit their script to film and streaming studios.

Getting Started: Agents are no longer the only person that can submit scripts to studios, streaming, and broadcast companies.

  • Submitting a script on your own. If you or a team member have credits from a major studio, streaming, or broadcast company as a producer or writer along with knowledge of what industry executives require for developing scripts for review. You can apply for permission to submit scripts.

If unable to submit your script on your own, there are other options available.

If assistance is needed speak with our Executive Producer...

  • Executive producers, attorneys, and producers that work with the industry, in many cases are offering their services to assist writers and independents.
  • To get started, you just need to decide who, you want to assist you.
  • Keep in mind, there are some that will only develop your package but not submit your script. Make sure to ask if they do both.
  • Do your research. Using IMDB.com is a good source to confirm an executive's credits. Make sure their credits are from major film, cable, streaming, and/or broadcast companies.

Another option is to Adapt Your Script To A Book.

For more information and if assistance is needed speak with our Executive Producer...

When asked to send over information about your project, companies want to see more than your script.

  • Your Development Presentation is often reviewed before your Polished Script is read.
  • Click here: What is a Development Presentations (DP). Why is it needed, and how does it differ from a pitch deck?
  • Do you need to have talent attached to your package or know someone in the industry? No.
  • Is it mandatory to have a visual or proof of public interest in your project? No, but highly recommended:
  • The following is recommended: Concept Video, trailer, and/or support information showing the public has interest in your project is also very helpful... i.e. book version of your script, channel on YouTube, social media followers, etc.
  • What happens to my script once it's submitted to a film, streaming, or broadcast company?

Whoa Phillip, you got things twisted … we’re providing information that writers don’t pay for, or are obligated to use, or even read. If they need assistance, they can use anyone or have their team perform steps on their own. ????I get my info from our 2 primary Executive Producers that are currently working with major studios and streaming companies. Their credits are public on IMDB.com … Their info comes from major studio execs, and standards set by the industry. ?Here in the U.S. writers have options. Although you are in London, I'm sure you have options. Care to share how your scripts are pitched and produced. Craig, BSI Films, Intern
