What are some effective techniques to prevent yourself from saying "umm" mid-sentence?

At one point, we’ve witnessed vocalizations such as er, um, ah, well, and you know in the stream of speech. In other cases, we’ve also done the same.?
These are known as filled pauses, and they are thought to be an unconscious or reflex verbal reaction to an internal indication that communication is problematic. All are ineffectual and will give the impression that you are unsure of yourself, unprepared, and hesitant.
The number one recommendation I give is that one needs to identify how frequently they appear in their speech. I’ve found that addressing challenges in public speaking starts with raising our awareness of the exact challenge, its magnitude. In this case, record yourself as you prepare for a speech as you take note of the filled interjections.
2. Take note of your speaking pace
Generally, people tend to speak at a quicker pace than naturally when speaking to an audience. Seek to intentionally control your speech’s pace which in turn allows you to gather your thoughts and articulate them better
3. Breathe
In public speaking, breathing is not only a physiological process, but a tool of effectiveness as well. Breathing well allows you to relax and to use your voice optimally.?
