Hi, I’m Malte! Did you know there’s a way to run a business that makes a profit while solving real-world problems? This is the essence of Social Entrepreneurship - an approach to business that tackles challenges like poverty, education, or sustainability while staying financially sustainable.
In this newsletter, I am covering the essentials of Social Entrepreneurship in weekly posts. In this first article, I am going into the basic definition and what it is all about and why it works.
Here’s why it works: Without profit, there is no purpose. A successful social enterprise is self-sufficient, using business principles to drive impact.
Take my brand Shore Buddies as an example. We create toys from recycled plastic bottles, teaching kids about ocean conservation. By balancing profitability with purpose, we’re addressing sustainability while building a thriving business.
The beauty of social entrepreneurship is that it allows you to create meaningful change through a scalable model. Whether it’s reducing waste, improving education, or empowering communities, the potential to make an impact is limitless.
What Problem Would You Solve?
Think about the issues you’re passionate about. What challenge inspires you to take action? Social entrepreneurship is about aligning your business goals with a mission that matters.
Follow along for more insights, leave your thoughts in the comments and let’s improve the world together ????

1 个月Well spoken, and I absolutely agree! ?? Without making a profit, you can’t run a sustainable business. It’s crucial to emphasize this simple equation. If you don’t aim for profit, you might be better off in a purpose-driven non-profit organization—which is totally fine. But let’s not blur the lines between running a business and making money. Purpose and profit should go hand in hand.
