What Is the Sixth Sense, and How Do You Develop It?

Right now, we perceive reality through our ego, which filters everything according to our personal desires and interests. This self-centered perception shapes our view of the world, making it an inward-directed experience.

To develop a sixth sense, an entirely new way of perceiving, we need to cultivate an opposite sense—one that is directed outward rather than inward. This requires developing positive connections with others, working together to build a common vessel of perception that emerges from our collective desire to rise above egoistic self-interests and unite, similar to nature’s very own unified, interconnected, and interdependent form.

Through our yearning for unity, we construct a new, altruistic sense—the sixth sense—a mutual perception that belongs to us all. It is through this common sense that we begin to perceive reality beyond ourselves. The new picture we see through this expanded awareness is what we call “the upper world”—a perception of reality not limited by the ego, but illuminated by the positive unifying force that dwells in nature.

This shift is achieved through our motions to unite above our self-aimed desires in order to feel the complete, interconnected, and interdependent reality we exist in. As we attain this new sense, our perception shifts, letting us experience existence in a completely new way, one that is much broader, more complete, and eternal.
