Next time you're in a rut at work, ask yourself - WWSD?
What Would Samantha Do?
How would she behave if she needed to snap out of a Fall Funk?
How would she walk into her Performance Review?
How would she handle a career set back?
If you're feeling like your carer is just kind of happening to you. And if your'e ready to grab it by the horns and steer if YOUR way, then I double dare you to channel?BIG?SAMANTHA?ENERGY at work.
Exude the Samantha from Sex In The City kick-ass-and-take-names kind of confidence you wish you had, especially in a room full of men.
WWSD?
But you might be thinking - well hang on Meggie - I was never the Samantha character! I always saw myself as more of a Carrie or Charlotte, or perhaps you're more of a Miranda vibe at work.
But here's why I like Samantha as an example of someone to channel when you're not at your highest confidence peak.
If you're feeling unsure about your value in the team or not sure just what conditions or pay to ask for - guess what? Your boss can sense it too.
People can tell if you're not 100% in your conviction.
Sometimes, we have to ask for what we want even when we're not feeling our best.
And in those situations? I love to channel someone who DOES have the energy I crave.
Like - Samantha.
Equally, don't be afraid to borrow the confidence of someone else if you ever need an extra boost walking into a high stakes negotiation.
You may prefer to channel Miranda. Or Oprah. Or even Axe from Billions. You do you.
But - if you need to, do borrow the confidence of someone who resonates with you, your style and your values.

I want to share the story of my real-life client, Haley, and her?Samantha-eque makeover.
She was doing well at work. Her base salary was around 80k. She didn’t hate her job, buuuuuut didn’t love it either.
I noticed when she joined the?Career Level Up?program?she had a looooot of excuses for why she wasn't pursuing what she?really?wanted:
Now to her credit - she showed up to every live coaching call. She worked through the curriculum and followed the steps.?
Slowly - things started changing for her.
First, she got a small promotion.
Then, fast forward 4 months, she had 3 job interviews - and was offered 2.?
She shared with me this week that before every job interview phone call, she asked herself - WWSD?
She's?just moved to her dream city - Chicago.?She landed a fab Fortune 500 gig, despite the visa issues (with a punchy share package to boot!)
The people who've graduated from the Career Level Up? this year have:
I’m thrilled to let you know that the last?Career Level Up Program?for the year is OPEN for enrollment. It’s a 10-week group coaching program that'll take you from overlooked and underpaid to thriving.
Send me a DM for more info - can't wait for class to kick off next week!
Cheering you on always,
Meggie
