What Should a Person Receive from Their Community?
First of all, a person should receive mental and personal security. People should know that they have food on the table today and the next day, a roof over their head, a place for their family, and that they can deal with any health or physical problem that arises. Only a community can provide such security to a person.
This awakens the question: Why do we need a community specifically, and not money, through which we can buy several material goods to give us security?
We can partially buy such security for money, but we will reach such states where we will see how weak we are and how we will be unable to solve our problems with money. Also, we will be unable to protect ourselves from various phenomena that exceed the boundaries of what money can solve.
Precisely as we evolve to become an increasingly interconnected and interdependent society around the world, only a community will be able to protect us with its integral force that it generates, a force that is in balance with nature's integral, interconnected, and interdependent form.
