What should I do if the aluminum buckle plate ceiling is uneven?

As a very common ceiling decoration material, aluminum gusset plates have the characteristics of being lightweight, having good heat insulation and sound insulation effects, and being safe and non-toxic. They have become the first choice of metal ceiling decoration materials for many homeowners. However, many homeowners have reported that the newly installed aluminum gusset plate ceilings are uneven. What causes this?

I. Reasons for the Unevenness of Aluminum Gusset Plate Ceilings

  1. Incorrect installation methods of aluminum gusset plates are the main reason for the unevenness of aluminum gusset plate ceilings. In severe cases, a wavy shape may even appear. For example, if the keel is not leveled before installing the slats and then leveling is carried out later, the slats will be unevenly stressed and form a wavy shape. The lightweight aluminum gusset plate ceiling may deform locally due to its inability to withstand gravity. This phenomenon mostly occurs in the ceiling form where the keel also serves as a clamping tool.
  2. Poor control of the horizontal line. This is due to poor control during the setting out or the keel not being leveled, and the control is also not in place during the installation and construction.
  3. If the suspenders are not firm, local subsidence will be caused. If the slats themselves are deformed and installed without correction, the problem of uneven aluminum gusset plates will also occur. This phenomenon mostly occurs with long slat types.

II. Solutions to the Unevenness of Aluminum Gusset Plate Ceilings

  1. The elevation lines around the aluminum gusset plate ceiling should be accurately marked on the wall, and the error should not be greater than ±5mm. If the span is relatively large, additional control points should be set at appropriate positions in the middle. In one section, control should be carried out by pulling a wire, and the wire should be straightened and not allowed to sink.
  2. The installation can only be carried out after the keel has been straightened and leveled. This is a reasonable and important process in the construction. Otherwise, it is difficult to control the flatness of the aluminum gusset plates. Especially when the plate surface is relatively thin, due to poor rigidity, it is extremely easy to deform even under the action of uneven external forces, even if the force is very small. Once deformed, it is rather difficult to adjust on the ceiling surface and can only be adjusted by removing the plates.
  3. For equipment that cannot be directly suspended, additional suspenders should be set up and directly fixed to the structural roof slab.
  4. If expansion bolts are used to fix the suspenders, concealed inspection records should be made, such as the embedding depth and spacing of the expansion bolts. Anti-pullout tests of the expansion bolts should also be carried out at key positions.
