But what should I call it?
I've been thinking about starting a YouTube channel for several months now. Having said that, I can't actually take credit for the idea. A few of my students at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences actually gave me the idea. And I'm sure you will be shocked to learn this channel will focus on topics such as #data, #healthcare, #statistics, #machinelearning, #ai, #analytics, etc.
My short term goal is to connect the material on the channel (which needs a name) to the material in some of my classes and provide web apps to help people (including my students) learn. Hosting isn't free, so I need to generate a little money to support this endeavor. Longer term, I'd like to use this space to explore some of the less-discussed aspects of healthcare/human-services analytics. Demonstrations using pandas/dplyr to filter a dataset are legion. But I haven't seen as much content that goes BEYOND demo-code "analyses" and that is the space I'd like to really explore.
I have therefore, finally, arrived at the real reason I'm writing this "article". This channel needs a name and I am about as creative as a rock. The only reason I have any header artwork is because of generative AI. I need a catchy name that is unique, available, and preferably somehow references Plato or the Crisis of the Third Century. Some ideas that have been bouncing around in my head include:
