Is this what Science has come to?

The Journal of Sustainable Development recently published a "paper" that is but a political screed. I quote its abstract here in full and verbatim. This doesn't read like any abstract of any scientific?paper I ever came across and it also contains several spelling mistakes that I bolded for you here.?

The emphasis on a false climate crisis is becoming a tragedy for modern civilization, which depends on?relible, economic, and environmentally viable energy. The windmills, solar panels and backup batteries have?none?if?these qualities. This falsehood is pushed by a powerful lobby which Bjorn Lomborg has called a climate industrial complex, comprising some scientists, most media, industrialists, and legislators. It has somehow managed to convince many that CO2?in the atmosphere, a gas necessary for life on earth, one which we exhale with every breath, is an environmental poison. Multiple scientific theories and measurements show that there is no climate crisis. Radiation forcing calculations by both skeptics and believers show that the carbon dioxide radiation?forcicng?is about 0.3% of the incident radiation, far less than other effects on climate. Over the period of human civilization, the temperature has oscillated between quite a few warm and cold periods, with many of the warm periods being warmer than today. During geological times, it and the carbon dioxide level have been all over the place with no correlation between them.

Supposedly this journal which is maintained by the Canadian Center of Science and Education (CCSE) is peer reviewed. It boggles the mind how this passed peer review. Frankly, this is beyond embarrassing.?And I would like to invite comments from the editorial team of this journal to explain this embarrassment.

I tried to determine the impact factor of this journal, but it seems it is no longer monitored.

The Canadian Center of Science and Education (CCSE) describes itself as "a private for-profit organization delivering support and services to educators and researchers in Canada and around the world."

Supposedly it was established in 2006 in partnership with research institutions, community organizations, enterprises, and foundations.

It may be worthwhile for an investigative journalist to look into what enterprises and foundations provide funding for the CCSE.

This smacks very much of the kind of "science" the tobacco industry helped to produce.

Certainly, spelling mistakes in a peer reviewed journal article are embarrassing. Beyond that, is the concern that there is scientific debate on this subject? Or that the debate is not scientific? Or should there be no scientific debate at all on this subject?

My God, Henning. This defies the imagination. That this could possibly be published in a "peer-reviewed" journal is shocking. Your use of the term "political screed" is apt. I fear that the ease of dissemination of faux authoritative perspectives has poisoned legitimate and truth-based discourse.
